I am a high school student and Boston University is my first choice for college. What does it take to get accepted?
What should be my GPA?
My SAT score?
How many AP classes should I take?
How many extracurricular activities/ volunteering should I have?
Should I do a pre-college summer program at a university?

Please be specefic.

Thanks for the help.

hey my sister is going to apply there next year so perhaps i can help you. first off, the more ap classes the better, but make sure that you can handle all of them and they don’t stress you out too much, you still want to enjoy your high school years. next, join a few clubs and be dedicated to them, they will look great on your resume and the teachers involved can write awesome recommendation letters because they know you. next, you need to get atleast a 1900 on your s.a.t. for them to even consider you. the s.a.t. prep classes are expensive but there are alternatives such as the prep course on, you can take a few practice sat tests, and it’s the best place because these are the people that make them. if you are having a tough time with the s.a.t., consider the a.c.t. i **** at math and i got a better grade on the a.c.t. and it got me into my college of choice. go to boston university’s website and see what criteria they are looking for, you may even have to set up an interview with them when you apply. as for volunteer hours, try and aim for 100 and up. a pre-college summer program won’t hurt and show you what you should expect once you get to college.
this should help, but remember, if you don’t get in it’s not the end of the world. i applied for college 2 years ago and i can tell you it was the most stressful time of my life, and the same for any other college bound senior. just do your best and it’ll work out, ok?
    good luck =)

You should be as well-rounded as possible. BU wants students who push themselves academically and in extracurriculars.

I got a low SAT score, but I had some awesome references and essays. Not to mention I had a lot of extracurriculars. I had taken three AP classes, but only got credit for one of them at BU.

    I didn’t go to a pre-college program.

You should have good grades in ALL your classes.
