   It really depends on what kind of musical arts you are looking into… musical theater? Conducting? Music Ed? Performance (and if so, vocal, instrumental?)?, Composition?… It actually makes a huge difference to know this to help point you in the right direction.

   Check out schools that have a conservatory. Although a conservatory does not necessarily mean a good education, it’s a good start. I went to Ohio State and got a great education and now I’m an orchestra teacher. I have a friend in jazz studies who is loving it at the University of Tennessee.
   The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music is good, as is Indiana University.
   There are so many colleges to choose from!
   Ask a music teacher at your school - they usually get all kinds of stuff in the mail on the subject.
